Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, policies and procedures, and accrediting body standards. •Maintains all legally required records. •Directs pharmacy operations and coordinates all departmental activities. •Coordinates all pharmacy activities including inventory management, compounding, dispensing and clinical monitoring activities. •Ensures that the pharmacy department is run in a cost-effective manner. •Maintains Power-of-Attorney, controls receipt and disposition of controlled substances to comply with federal and state regulations. •Conducts regular clinical meetings and provides in-services to multi-disciplinary team members. •Functions as a staff pharmacist, if required. •Establishes and maintains clinical monitoring procedures to comply with policy and practice standards. •Manages, recruits, hires and retains pharmacy staff. •Manages personnel issues for pharmacy department, coordinating staff schedules, on-call coverage, performance evaluations and exit interviews. •Actively participates in branch meetings. •Develops and adheres to a realistic pharmacy budget. •Limits risk management and safety exposure in the pharmacy. •Works cohesively with all managers. •Drives Performance Improvement activities. •Drives the Primary Case Management Model (PCMM) in daily interactions through the delegation of non-cognitive activities such as (but not limited to) lab tracking to support personnel, ordering only clinically necessary and cost effective labs and facilitation of positive patient outcomes with patients, nursing agencies, Client's nursing staff and other healthcare providers. •Drives corporately sponsored initiatives including but not limited to Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs), Staffing models, new processes and PCMM. •Works harmoniously with Sales to drive quality enhancement and cost reduction in patient care. •Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages subordinate managers who supervise several other employees in the business office and clinical departments. The number of subordinates will vary depending on the size of the branch. Directs, coordinates, and evaluates the branch and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements Education:BS REQUIRED IN PHARMACY, PHARMD preferred from an accredited college or university. Minimum five years IV experience in an IV alternate site environment or equivalent work experience. For you to be considered for this position you must possess a strong background in Clinical Pharmacy. You must have 5-7 years of progressive clinical and/or home infusion therapy experience. Management Experience in a hospital setting and/or Long Term Care setting will also be a consideration for this position. Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a management/leadership role required. Must be team-oriented, willing to mentor and lead by example. Current CPR certification required if involved with direct patient contact. Excellent oral, written, communication, organizational plus interpersonal skills. This is a TEAM Environment!
