Job Title: Pharmacist Consultant Company: Aerotek Location: Bentonville, AR Description: PRN Consultant PharmacistESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:- Travel to assigned long term care facility to perform medication therapy reviews.- Review physician prescription orders for appropriateness of dosage, drug choice, potential drug interactions, route of administration and stability for each resident in a long term care facility.- Answer drug-related questions and concerns and assist with problem solving for nursing staff and resident families, in area of expertise.- Help ensure that medications are being stored and administered appropriately.- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of appropriate documentation required by state and federal agencies.- Ensure that necessary laboratory tests have been recommended and the results are obtained and discussed with the nurse and the physician (if appropriate).- Assist the physician, nurse and resident with clinical and technical support and document all communication and interventions.- Maintain compliance of OBRA, HCFA and state regulations throughout facilities.- Provide educational programs for in-service nursing staff and other consultants on new therapeutic regulations and/or procedures.- Monitor adherence to approved policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Be very familiar with all state and federal regulations governing long term care facilities.- Report all findings and recommendations to the manager of clinical operations no later than the next to last business day of the month. QUALIFICATIONS: Required:- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy and have current state license.- Consulting Certificate to work in states which require this: Ms, AR, and others- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Experience as a long term care consultant- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing long term care facilities- Some travel to different long term facilities is mandatory Strongly Preferred:- Have own laptop with consulting softwareMust pass Drug Test and have appropriate TB screen within last 12 months. Have proper Education/Certification/Licenses including HIPAA compliance required for the Contract position.
