Description:
The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for department management, process improvement and development of clinical programs.  The Director will assess the development, implementation, evaluation and modification of the Pharmacy function.  These functions may include:  dispensing medications, preparation and dispensing of compounded IVs, managing Automated Drug Dispensing systems, directing the activities of the Pharmacy staff members, serving on committees regarding patient care to ensure quality of care, providing for and tracking of staff education.  The Director assumes 24-hour accountability to ensure expectations of the department are met.  The Director is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services.  The Director coordinates and oversees the delivery of pharmaceutical services and provides for the monitoring and intervention in therapeutics to provide cost effective care with optimum outcomes. This is a 190-bed facility with 4 staff Pharmacists, 1 Clinical Pharmacist and 3 Pharmacy Tech’s. There is no manager under the DOP and the candidate must be willing to staff as needed. The Pharmacy hours are 7a-11p, M-F, and 7a-8p, Sat and Sun. Requirements:  BS degree or PharmD with 5 years experience as a Pharmacist and 3-5 years experience in a Manager or Director level role. Excellent salary, benefits and annual productivity bonus of up to 10%.  Relocation package available.
