Establishes, implements, and supervises compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and standards governing the pharmacy including HIPAA compliance and staffing licenses.
Works with other pharmacists to ensure consistency across all pharmacy operations.
Establishes, implements and supervises methods, policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security and disposition of drugs and devices.
Establishes, implements and supervises transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Maintains accurate and detailed records of all prescription transactions, and submits appropriate claims for third-party reimbursement.
Establish,implement, and supervise record-keeping system for the delivery, possession, storage, and safekeeping of drugs.
Write reports and SOP change requests as required.
Controls and maintains inventory levels by establishing, implementing and supervising defined ordering practices.
Ensures legal operation of the pharmacy, including meeting all inspections and other requirements of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing pharmacy operations.
Receives drug orders and fills prescriptions for pharmaceutical preparations and orders for patients.
Establishes, implements and supervises the accuracy in prescription entry through completion.
Consults, advises, and educates staff, providers and patients regarding pharmaceutics.
Establishes, implements, and supervises quality assurance programs for pharmacy services designed to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of finished compounds and patient care, pursue opportunities to improve patient care, and resolve identified problems.
Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., state Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) for pending regulatory changes and partner with pharmacy management to address them.
Communicates and educates staff and management on pharmacy-related issues including, but not limited to regulatory changes/compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, and investigational studies.
Establishes, implements, and supervises reports required by state or federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Responds regarding any notices or communications issued by the Board or other regulatory agencies.
Set the standard for rigorous adherence to high work ethic and exemplify a positive willing attitude, productivity and commitment by exemplifying these traits in the pharmacy.
Works well with team members in handling varying tasks as priorities shift.
Any other duty assigned to support the needs of the business.
