Essential Functions:

  • Provides pharmaceutical care to patients assigned by actively monitoring drug therapy, providing interventions and performing consults for all assigned patients.
  • Promotes professionalism and strives to raise the level of professional practice.
  • Responds to drug information questions.
  • Provides medication teaching to patients and families as appropriate.
  • Documents in the patient's medical record all pertinent information, including but not limited to progress notes, consultations. - Provides pharmacokinetic dosing and recommendations as appropriate.
  • Monitor parenteral nutrition and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Attends in-services, grand rounds, and teleconferences as directed by preceptor.
  • Prepares and presents case presentations as required.
  • Prepare and present lectures at Drake University as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or Pharm.D.) from an ACPE approved College of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency
  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa.
