Ambulatory P & T and Formulary Management Coordinator
Join our team at Denver Health and Hospital Authority as an Ambulatory P & T and Formulary Management Coordinator! the pharmacist program coordinator is responsible for the coordination of activities and processes designed to provide efficient and appropriate pharmacy program services system-wide.We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about pharmacy services and patient care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community by ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our ambulatory care settings.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Manage the formulary system for ambulatory care clinics
- Participate in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and provide recommendations for formulary changes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to formulary management
- Identifies program training and staff development needs of employees and ensures appropriate training and competencies are provided in relation to the program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with other members of the healthcare team and with pharmacy leadership
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of drug interactions and drug information
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Experience in prescription dispensing and hospital pharmacy operations
- Ability to perform IV admixture and unit dose dispensing
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and non-sterile compounding
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in outpatient pharmacy and IV compounding
- Proficiency in typing prescriptions and patient counseling
- Familiarity with USP 797 standards and antimicrobial stewardship
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with other members of the healthcare team and with pharmacy leadership
- Previous experience in pharmacy management
Salary and Benefits:
- Minimum Salary: $131,100.00
- Maximum Salary: $209,800.00
