As a Pharmacist in Charge, you will be responsible for maintaining productivity and quality standards, as well as legal and company compliance, as you assist in the preparation of prescriptions in a variety of settings.

Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Carbondale, IL
Licensure Requirements: Must have open, active, and in good standing IL Pharmacist License
Education: Pharm. D.
Experience Needed: 3-5 years pharmacy management experience, 3-5 years pharmacy experience
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm
Pay: $70.00
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Pharmacist in Charge
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of patient care and safety
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel
• Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining appropriate stock levels
• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and potential interactions
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of pharmacy equipment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by law and company policies
• Conduct regular quality assurance audits and implement improvements as needed
• Manage pharmacy budget and financial performance
• Stay current with industry trends, new medications, and best practices in pharmacy care
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
• Foster positive relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
• Coordinate with other departments to improve overall healthcare delivery
• Implement and oversee medication safety programs
• Manage controlled substance inventories and maintain DEA compliance
• Participate in pharmacy and therapeutics committees as needed
