Job Description


Position ensures accurate prescription dispensing from intake to final verification, inventory support, and workflow coordination while maintaining regulatory compliance.  Position assists providers in choosing correct drug therapies while avoiding adverse medication interactions and events and while partnering with pharmacy staff.  The role also counsels and educates patients, caregivers, staff and other medical professionals regarding appropriate medication use.  The ideal candidate delivers exceptional patient care while ensuring regulatory compliance, and demonstrates strong leadership presence, a commitment to excellence and a passion for improving patient health outcomes.  Key accountability areas include, but are not limited to, the following:  1) operational management and regulatory compliance, 2) medication safety and inventory management, 3) quality assurance and process improvement, and 4) leadership development and people management.

Minimum education and experience levels required:

  • PharmD degree completion from an accredited college of pharmacy and successful Florida pharmacy board examination.
  • Entry-level pharmacist; some relevant pharmacy experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Valid Florida pharmacy license in good standing with a valid NPI designation and DEA number.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with teh ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and adapt messaging for the appropriate audience; bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to function in a complex team environment, collaborating with external and internal professionals and other customers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy services and understanding of pharmacology, therapeutics, drug interactions and disease states within an ever-changing health care environment.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands efficiently and simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with and/or understanding of clinical pharmacy key performance indicators, such as medication reconciliation and patient education.
  • Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases) and familiarity with various software programs, equipment and technology necessary to provide pharmacy services.  Familiarity with PioneerRX and eClinicalworks platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding pharmacy practice, medication dispensing and ethical guidelines.
  • Exceptional time-management, decision-making and organizational skills and abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills, professionalism and high emotional intelligence.
  • Working ability to develop a consensus, promote teamwork and inspire confidence.
  • Ability to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction including employees, patients, physicians and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting, minimizing errors and ensuring patient safety.
