Duration: 4-6 week contract
Position: Pharmacy Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Interpret prescriptions with professional judgment, ensuring accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals and related products.
- Review patients' medical history and medication profiles to identify potential issues such as therapeutic duplications, drug interactions, allergies, and misuse.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify orders or address medication availability issues.
- Verify the appropriateness of pharmaceutical agents for each prescription.
- Safely package and label medications, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure patients receive the correct medications prescribed by their healthcare provider.
- Prepare compounded prescriptions and intravenous medications accurately according to physician orders.
- Provide patient education and counseling on medication usage, side effects, and other relevant information.
- Supervise technical staff, ensuring adherence to pharmacy protocols and professional standards.
- Manage cash transactions and oversee staff activities to maintain a secure and efficient workflow.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff members, interns, and externs.
- Coordinate workload distribution, approve overtime, and manage scheduling as needed.
- Participate in inventory management and ordering processes to ensure optimal stock levels and cost-effective product selection.
- Secure the building at the end of the day to maintain safety and security.
- Assume the role of pharmacist in charge in the absence of the managing pharmacist.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Director.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy and current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Exceptional decision-making abilities and conflict-resolution skills.
- Dedication to providing outstanding customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
