Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, this position is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services which will assure optimum clinical results, with a minimum potential for hazard to the patient, at minimal cost.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Develops, maintains, and shares with other Pharmacists, state-of-the-art drug therapy expertise.
Serves as drug information expert.
Accurately supplies medications to patients.
Carefully identifies, prevents, and follows up on drug related problems.
Supervises ancillary pharmacy personnel to optimize their efficiency and productivity.
Optimizes pharmaceutical care in a therapeutic specialty area.
Uses hospital resources in the most cost-effective manner.
Collects and provides data when required.
Keeps workplace clean and orderly.
Utilizes time in the most effective and productive manner.
Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of all drug products, their uses, side effects, toxicities, and therapeutic dose range is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Pharmacist licensed in the State of Kentucky with experience as a Pharmacist. Doctor of Pharmacy degree and hospital experience is preferred.
