Pharmacy Operation Manager is needed to perform the following duties :

Oversee daily pharmacy workflow operations, including assigning tasks and managing workload distribution among pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure timely and efficient prescription processing and dispensing across all shifts.
Manage staff scheduling and coverage, including creating weekly and monthly work schedules for pharmacists and technicians, coordinating lunch and rest breaks to maintain continuous pharmacy coverage, arranging substitute coverage for absences or call-outs, and adjusting staffing levels to meet fluctuating prescription volume demands.
Identify and implement process improvements to optimize pharmacy efficiency, such as streamlining intake and verification workflows, reducing patient wait times, improving inventory turnover, and leveraging pharmacy management software and automation technology to enhance throughput.
Develop and execute cost reduction strategies by analyzing operational expenditures, negotiating pricing and contract terms with pharmaceutical wholesalers and suppliers, evaluating generic substitution opportunities, minimizing medication waste and expired inventory, and identifying areas where resource allocation can be improved to reduce overhead.
Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, wholesalers, and pharmaceutical representatives, including negotiating supply agreements, resolving order discrepancies and delivery issues, evaluating new product offerings, and ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain for all pharmaceutical products and supplies.
Manage budget allocation and financial oversight during each billing cycle, including monitoring revenue and expenditure reports, tracking key performance indicators such as prescription volume, gross margins, and labor costs, preparing financial summaries for senior leadership, and making data-driven adjustments to align pharmacy operations with budgetary targets.
Monitor and enforce compliance with applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations, including DEA and state board of pharmacy requirements, by ensuring staff adherence to current standards, conducting routine internal audits, maintaining proper controlled substance documentation and recordkeeping, overseeing HIPAA compliance, and escalating issues to the pharmacist-in-charge or compliance team to safeguard patient safety and avoid regulatory penalties or fines.
Lead policy development and implementation by drafting, updating, and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for pharmacy operations, training staff on new policies and regulatory changes, ensuring documentation and recordkeeping practices meet accreditation and audit standards, and collaborating with clinical and administrative leadership to align pharmacy policies with organizational goals.
