Job Description
Day Shift
Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Pharmacist for their Glenwood Springs, CO location.
Responsibilities:
Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies procedures and protocols.
Develops and enforces policies and procedures that promote cost-effective, appropriate and safe medication use.
Maintains a medical staff approved formulary.
Supervises medication storage and preparation areas throughout the facility.
Ensures maintenance of an adequate medication supply. Ensures the integrity of the medication supply. Establishes specifications for the procurement of medications, chemicals and biologicals.
Maintains strict control and accountability for medications dispensed to patients or distributed to floor stock.
Assures adequate control and documentation of controlled substances.
Maintains applicable competency records and licensure are maintained in department files.
Assumes the duties of Staff Pharmacist when needed.
Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
Supervises all pharmacy personnel.
Develops job descriptions and performance standards. Evaluates and counsels staff on their performance.
Prepares work schedules and monitors workload statistics. Maintains an appropriate staffing level.
Provides for the educational needs of the pharmacy staff.
Maintains compliance with hospital policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations.
Integrate the department into the organization's primary functions.
Assists in the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the pharmacy that supports the mission and goals of the organization.
Develops and implements pharmacy services in collaboration with associated department services.
Develops, implements, and maintains a program that improves the quality of pharmacy services and supports the quality improvement plan of the organization.
Participates in all committees/functions required by the organization
Maintains competence required for current job title/position.
Maintains current pharmacy licensure.
Attends management meetings.
Requirements:
MUST HAVE EPIC experience.
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy Degree.
Pharm D REQUIRED
Current Colorado Pharmacy license in good standing.
Demonstrated leadership in both pharmacy operations and clinical pharmacy services
Strong regulatory knowledge, clinical judgment, communication, and teaching skills
BLS (American Heart Association)
ACLS (American Heart Association)
