The function of the Pharmacy Unit is to order and maintain floor stock of drugs and pharmaceuticals, packages, fills prescriptions and makes distribution to all hospitals. Provides consultative services as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops, coordinates, conducts, and evaluates education, orientation, in-service, and staff development programs for pharmacy and clinical staff.
Ensures training programs meet JCAHO, federal, and state standards through evaluations, surveys, committee reports, and performance reviews.
Maintains training, orientation, and educational records while supporting professional development through conferences, seminars, certifications, and workshops.
Manages projects from development through execution, including planning, communication, task delegation, and implementation of best practices.
Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises staff while building strong working relationships and collaborating with educators and healthcare teams.
Educates healthcare professionals, students, patients, and the public on rational drug therapy, while reviewing prescriptions, dispensing medications, and supporting drug use evaluations and pharmacy standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Education
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate or Pharm. D degree in Pharmacy.
Experience
Applicants must possess full-time work experience as a Licensed Pharmacist for 1 year.
Licensure & Certifications:
A Valid License with the State of Hawaii as a Pharmacist at the time of appointment.
