Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Lead the launch and daily operations of a newly opening behavioral health pharmacy as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge. This role is ideal for an experienced pharmacy leader eager to shape pharmacy services from the ground up in a focused inpatient hospital setting. Located in Peoria, IL, this contract position spans from late May through July with possible extension. Coverage is required Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including on-call responsibilities after shifts and potential weekend on-call support. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the working Director of Pharmacy, overseeing all pharmacy operations for a brand-new behavioral health facility Manage medication order approvals and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies Lead efforts to stock and manage Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets Participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committee meetings Collaborate in setting up and optimizing pharmacy services and workflows Engage with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation following provided training Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Illinois pharmacist licensure is mandatory Prior inpatient hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is a plus Capable of working independently without pharmacy technician support Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Benefits and Perks: Comprehensive training on site-specific systems including Omnicell and HCS Business casual dress code for a professional yet comfortable work environment Convenient access via Peoria International Airport for travel candidates Opportunity to be a pivotal team member at a new facility, making a direct impact on care delivery This position is contract-based and suitable for local candidates or those willing to travel, with travel expenses considered.
