Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract A leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy Services to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations in a well-established healthcare facility. This contract position offers a chance to lead a dedicated team of pharmacists and technicians within a diverse clinical environment that includes specialties such as orthopedics, oncology, cardiology, and behavioral health. Key Responsibilities: Serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) with full accountability for pharmacy services. Develop and manage staff schedules for pharmacists and technicians. Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, organizing meetings and implementing initiatives. Collaborate with the Buyer to resolve medication supply chain challenges. Participate in multiple medical staff committees and COPD readmissions reduction efforts. Conduct daily departmental huddles and monthly staff meetings. Manage controlled substance ordering and Pyxis access administration. Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff, acting as a resource for operational questions. Potentially perform sterile compounding when necessary due to staff shortages. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Must hold an active Missouri pharmacist license. Certification in Medication Therapy Services required. Proven inpatient pharmacy experience. Familiarity with Meditech Expanse preferred, particularly managing the drug dictionary. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No on-call responsibilities, but available as a resource during work hours. Initial onsite training for two weeks prior to maternity leave coverage. Benefits: Flexible dress code: business casual or scrubs of any color or print.
