Under the direction of the VISN 21 Pharmacy Executive, the VISN Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM), Prior Authorizion (PA) Coordinor/Program Manager is responsible for leading the VISN-level PADR program and team.
Duties:
Leadership, Oversight, and Personnel Management
Provide operional leadership and direction for the VISN-level PADR program, ensuring consistent, timely adjudicion of all medicion requests.
Develop and maintain VISN-wide SOPs, criteria for use, and standardized review processes in alignment with nional PBM standards and regulory requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison with VISN committees, facility leadership, and pharmacy stakeholders.
Oversee staffing, workload alignment, and performance management for PADR pharmacists and technicians.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of PADR personnel, coordining with Human Resources on necessary personnel actions.
Supports the team by adjudicing PADRs and providing program and staff leadership, while exercising initiive and collaboring effectively with all stakeholders to promote safe, evidence-based care for Veterans.
Quality Assurance, Educion, and Stregic Planning
Develop annual business and operional plans aligned with VISN leadership priorities, monitoring program costs and resource needs to ensure efficient operions.
Support PBM formulary and utilizion initiives to promote safe, cost-effective medicion use.
Provide educion and training on PADR processes, formulary guidance, and standardized competencies for PADR staff.
Lead quality assurance efforts to ensure consistency, regulory readiness, and adherence to nional standards across all participing facilities.
Strengthen consistency and transparency in adjudicion processes, while contributing subject mter expertise to enhance program impact.
Track key metrics and share da with leadership to inform decision-making and program improvement.
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm PST (Subject to Change to meet organizion needs)

Educion: Gradue of an Accredition Council for Pharmacy Educion (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalauree degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Verificion of approved degree programs may be obtained from the Accredition Council for Pharmacy Educion, 20 North Clark Street, Suite 2500, Chicago, Illinois 60602-5109; phone: ..., or through their Web site : (NOTE: Prior to 2005 ACPE accredited both baccalauree and Doctor of Pharmacy terminal degree program. Today the sole degree is Doctor of Pharmacy.). Gradues of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educional requirement if the 2 gradue is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Gradue Examinion Commission (FPGEC) Certificion, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Gradue Equivalency Examinion).
Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a Ste, Territory, Commonwealth of the United Stes (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registrion if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. A pharmacist who has, or has ever had, any license(s) revoked, suspended, denied, restricted, limited, or issued/placed in a probionary stus may be appointed only in accordance with the provisions in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section B, paragraph 16.

Leadership, Oversight, and Personnel Management
Provide operional leadership and direction for the VISN-level PADR program, ensuring consistent, timely adjudicion of all medicion requests.
Develop and maintain VISN-wide SOPs, criteria for use, and standardized review processes in alignment with nional PBM standards and regulory requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison with VISN committees, facility leadership, and pharmacy stakeholders.
Oversee staffing, workload alignment, and performance management for PADR pharmacists and technicians.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of PADR personnel, coordining with Human Resources on necessary personnel actions.
Supports the team by adjudicing PADRs and providing program and staff leadership, while exercising initiive and collaboring effectively with all stakeholders to promote safe, evidence-based care for Veterans.
Quality Assurance, Educion, and Stregic Planning
Develop annual business and operional plans aligned with VISN leadership priorities, monitoring program costs and resource needs to ensure efficient operions.
Support PBM formulary and utilizion initiives to promote safe, cost-effective medicion use.
Provide educion and training on PADR processes, formulary guidance, and standardized competencies for PADR staff.
Lead quality assurance efforts to ensure consistency, regulory readiness, and adherence to nional standards across all participing facilities.
Strengthen consistency and transparency in adjudicion processes, while contributing subject mter expertise to enhance program impact.
Track key metrics and share da with leadership to inform decision-making and program improvement.
Work Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm PST (Subject to Change to meet organizion needs)

Educion: Gradue of an Accredition Council for Pharmacy Educion (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalauree degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Verificion of approved degree programs may be obtained from the Accredition Council for Pharmacy Educion, 20 North Clark Street, Suite 2500, Chicago, Illinois 60602-5109; phone: ..., or through their Web site : (NOTE: Prior to 2005 ACPE accredited both baccalauree and Doctor of Pharmacy terminal degree program. Today the sole degree is Doctor of Pharmacy.). Gradues of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educional requirement if the 2 gradue is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Gradue Examinion Commission (FPGEC) Certificion, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Gradue Equivalency Examinion).
Licensure: Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a Ste, Territory, Commonwealth of the United Stes (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registrion if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. A pharmacist who has, or has ever had, any license(s) revoked, suspended, denied, restricted, limited, or issued/placed in a probionary stus may be appointed only in accordance with the provisions in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section B, paragraph 16.
