As a Senior Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you'll be responsible for various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders and dispensing any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, IV, enterals and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record
  • Compound IV Medications in a clean room environment
  • Use USP 797 guidelines for sterile compounding
  • Use USP 800 guidelines for handling of hazardous medications
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations enacted by state and federal regulatory agencies (WA DOH, Board of Pharmacy, DEA)
  • Maintain clean room environment and daily / weekly / monthly cleaning of room and equipment according to SOPs
  • Manage inventory and ordering supplies
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand variable compounding modalities and to work independently but understand the need to consult with the pharmacist if questions arise
  • Understand principles of patient/medication safety and ensure activities promote the safe use of medications
  • Resolve patient issues while ensuring accurate information is provided
  • Schedule patient deliveries and refills
  • Take inbound calls and making outbound calls as needed
  • Basic tasks are completed without review by others
  • May need to assist with other areas of the pharmacy

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician in State of Washington
  • 2+ years of experience with Windows PC applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
  • 2+ years of experience as a sterile compounding pharmacy technician, or pharmacy related experience in a community pharmacy or inpatient pharmacy
  • Experience with pharmacy inventory management and asset tracking
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20 to $36 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
