The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases (ID) is responsible for providing direct patient care to individuals receiving antimicrobials. They will manage antimicrobial therapy to optimize clinical outcomes and lead hospital-wide stewardship initiatives. The responsibilities include real-time feedback on antimicrobial use, developing evidence-based guidelines, and collaborating with microbiology, nursing, and medical staff on quality improvement projects. Beyond clinical duties, you will mentor pharmacy residents and students.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required
- Pharm.D. or Master's degree related to pharmacy is preferred
- PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (ASHP Accredited) required.
- PGY2 Pharmacy Residency (ASHP Accredited) preferred.
- WV Board of Pharmacy Licensure is required
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience
- 2+ Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred
The kind of position-related experience includes working as a pharmacist in an inpatient hospital setting or having previous involvement in a prior informatics role.
