Pay Range: $58.29 - $91.81 per hour

Summary:
The Pharmacy Supervisor oversees and directs all fulfillment operations of the pharmacy, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant medication dispensing. This role is responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating fulfillment staff, managing daily workflow, and responding to insurance audits. The Supervisor provides leadership to pharmacists and technicians, delegates fulfillment responsibilities as appropriate, and partners with the Pharmacist-in-Charge and pharmacy leaders to maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations and accrediting body standards. Required Job Qualifications:
- Active and in good standing State of Illinois licensure
- For out of state candidates, an existing license in home state in good standing and the ability to obtain an IL state license within 30-days of job offer.
- Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, precepting pharmacy learners, strong problem-solving skills, experience developing pharmacy services.
- Completed PharmD.
- Previous experience leading a multi-professional committee or workgroup.
- Normal office, warehouse and clinical environments.
- This is a full time 0 FTE position, First shift, Monday through Friday. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and must work 40.0 hours each week to maintain full time status. Employees need to be able to work extended hours due to business needs.
- This position required up to 5% travel.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- PGY1 and PGY2 training (or equivalent training).
- Board certification (specialty certification, as appropriate).
- Knowledge of pertinent Information Technology (Epic, Beacon).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Expertise in medication therapy management, chronic disease state management, and transitions of care.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical documentation systems.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, standing, or sitting on a stool as necessary.
- Continuous standing and frequent walking.
- May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to blood-borne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, cleaning and sanitizing agents.
Responsibilities:
- Interview, select, and hire Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians for the fulfillment team.
- Provide direct supervision and day-to-day leadership to fulfillment Pharmacists and Technicians, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and completion of mid-year and annual performance reviews.
- Actively participate in pharmacy fulfillment operations, including performing pharmacist verification activities alongside other pharmacists, in accordance with workload and production needs.
- Manage and direct daily workflow, ensuring appropriate staffing and coverage for order filling, pharmacist verification, point-of-sale activities, and shipping operations.
- Coordinate and oversee orientation and ongoing training for pharmacy personnel, including new workflows, protocols, systems, and products; ensure staff maintain required competencies and continuing education requirements.
- Use hands-on involvement in operations to continuously assess, refine, and, in coordination with the pharmacy manger, optimize fulfillment processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, staff utilization, and quality of pharmaceutical care.
- Guide the fulfillment team toward achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and financial goals.
- Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure cost-effective procurement and appropriate inventory levels of medications and supplies.
- Oversee and assist, as needed, with the receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of medications in accordance with manufacturer requirements, safety standards, DSCA and other state and federal regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure pharmacy records, documentation, and processes are maintained in compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and accrediting body standards.
- Support and respond to insurance audits, including documentation review and corrective actions as appropriate.
- Lead, facilitate, and participate in staff, management, and interdepartmental meetings as required.
- Develop and oversee training and development programs for new and existing staff; support technician advancement.
- Maintain professional clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing review of literature and participation in in-services, seminars, and conferences.
- Provide marketing and outreach support as requested.
