Job Description: The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of dispensing, counseling, and ensuring the safe and efficient management of medications. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with patients, addressing their healthcare needs and supporting them in their journey to better health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws.
  • Provide exceptional patient counseling, answering questions about prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and general health issues.
  • Perform medication therapy management (MTM) to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage prescription processing, including refills, transfers, and verifying insurance information.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and handling controlled substances.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
  • Educate patients on the safe use of medications, potential side effects, and lifestyle changes to improve health outcomes.
  • Contribute to community outreach and patient education programs.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Connecticut and in good standing.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive patient relationships.
  • Experience in an independent pharmacy setting is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
