Job Description

This Pharmacy Technician role focuses on supporting a growing mail-order pharmacy operation by accurately preparing, packaging, and dispensing medications while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards. You will operate and maintain automated dispensing equipment, perform quality control checks, and collaborate with a supportive team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service to patients. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain automated dispensing equipment to ensure accurate and efficient medication dispensing.
  • Prepare and package medications with precision and care, following all established pharmacy procedures.
  • Perform quality control checks on medications and packaging to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance.
  • Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and fulfillment activities to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
  • Assist with warehouse operations related to pharmacy distribution and mail-order fulfillment.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service in a retail and mail-order pharmacy environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized, efficient, and clean work area.
  • Protect patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality of all patient and prescription information.
  • Manage time effectively to meet daily productivity goals and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Kentucky Pharmacy Technician registration or license, which can be obtained upon hire.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate preparation, packaging, and dispensing of medications.
  • Solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective time management skills to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
  • Capability to stand for an 8-hour shift and perform repetitive tasks safely and consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • No prior pharmacy or healthcare experience required; training is available for motivated candidates.
  • Experience in customer service, retail pharmacy, or general retail environments is beneficial.
  • Background in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and distribution, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with fulfillment or mail-order operations is helpful for success in this role.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse-style environment that supports pharmacy distribution activities.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain required state registration or licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in Kentucky.
Work Environment

This role is based in a mail-order pharmacy and warehouse-style environment that supports high-volume medication dispensing, packaging, and fulfillment. You will work around automated dispensing equipment, shipping and receiving areas, and warehouse distribution operations. The position requires standing for most of an 8-hour shift and performing repetitive tasks with a strong focus on accuracy and safety. Typical schedules follow daytime hours, such as 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, depending on operational needs. The work setting emphasizes teamwork, organization, and adherence to regulatory standards, providing a structured yet supportive environment where you can learn and grow in the pharmacy field.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southgate, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
