Pharmacy Technician Jobs in Ottawa, ON
A Pharmacy Technician is a frontline figure in the pharmacy industry, responsible for a variety of tasks to assist the pharmacist and ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy. They are often involved in receiving and verifying prescriptions, preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining patient records, and performing inventory checks. Additionally, Pharmacy Technicians must be capable of providing excellent customer service as they frequently interact with patients, answering their questions and providing information about their prescriptions. They must also possess certain important skills, such as attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. Many states require Pharmacy Technicians to be certified, which generally involves passing an exam, such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
